Guinness Pro 12 2014/15: Round 13

When you're down to 14 men you don't lead with the knee . Too risky. Have to ask VosaWhy?

It's something that's been creeping into the game, so wouldn't be surprised... I'll watch the highlight later and make my own mind up I guess!
Yeah the holding thing drives me up the wall, Aussies did it to Wales a fair bit in the Autumn.

...Probably good I'm not watching this one.

Yellow card for Cardiff Vosawi who was playing really well. There was a red for Steyn (Stade) last week for a pretty harmless kick......if that was red then this should definitely have been!

Time to bring on mad dog to try get that bonus point try

Sonny bill who?

Valiant effort, totally outplayed Leinster at times, but when it went to 13v16 it was never going to last.

Gopperth was very good amongst a bunch of headless chickens. Teo didn't look out of place either and imposed himself well.

McGrath apparently made 15 tackles yesterday. That's ridiculous for a 9. If he can keep improving his pass he'll really be something.

He's a talented player but needs to be involved in big days. Surely he must be ahead of Boss now.

I'm wondering when that "if" will happen. He's a great sniper, but as always his pass is lopey and inconsistent. He'd be criticised more if he was any other 9 without the rep he has from under age level.

It's already noticeably improved over the course of this season. I'd also say he is regulary criticised for it but people just want him ahead of Boss, which isn't saying too much this season.

Yeah that's fair enough. Reddan is in his later years so hopefully McGrath continues his progress. When does Cooney come back? He's solid. Nothing flash but he's well rounded.

Cooney would have been 2nd choice this year had he been with us, he's a good player and I wouldn't be afraid to see him in Europe either. Saying that it would have been impossible for MOC to foresee the decline of Boss when the deal was done.

I agree. I've been very impressed with Cooney over in Connacht. He doesn't hinder their game considering he replaces Marmion. I hope he comes back.

A performance from Ulster yesterday which is completly symptomatic of our season. Coasting to a 24-0 lead with 3 tries in the first 30 minutes only to be clinging onto the lead at the end having not scored another point. To both not get the bonus point and to concede a losing bonus point is shocking. There have been numerous times this season where we have gotten into a semi-comfortable lead only to lose/come within whisker score of losing at the end.

There seems to have been a distinct lack of leadership both on and off the pitch this season. Best, as great as he is, is not cut out as captin material for me but there isn't really another obvious choice (perhaps vdM?). We were throwing the ball around so aimlessly at times in the second half it looked like a schoolboy game. I wasn't convinced Doak was the right choice at the start of the season and nothing has changed that view. Injuries haven't helped but I think it goes deeper that. Aside from the Glasgow game, I'm struggling to think of another game this season where we have played for the full 80 minutes.

I'm genuinely worried about what might happen in Toulon if there isn't serious improvement right across the board.
