Guinness Pro 12 2014/15: Round 11

Well I'll take that win. But let's be honest we were good but they were poor. I thought CJ and TOD were a class apart in back rows and Conway continues to improve in to a serious player. I was surprised but glad Holland had superb game but the biggest shout out has to go to DOCv2. He's still in rehab mode and looked awesome when introduced. If we keep him fit he will be another serious option.
On Leinster I seriously think they've to make some big calls and it regards players as well as coaching. I seriously think they made huge mistake putting Cullen in straight as forwards coach without learning his trade. Also I know I come across as not a fan but while Dave Kearney was ok tonight he seemed to fall off a lot of tackles which was unlike him. What was his recent injuries? After the knee. Jordi seems to have gone far back too since return but thought Jennings and Conan were good.

Jordi and DK were awful, Fanning and Boss were worse everyone else bar Conan, Jennings, Mads and Luke Fitz were mediocre to very bad. They showed no evidence that they were coached to beat Munster or play winning rugby at all, O'Connor had always stated that he was happy with winning "ugly" now we're losing ugly. Mick Dawson must be setting up a replacement coach for next season because no coach should get away with two embarrassing losses to such a weak Munster side and if we continue at this rate Europe is looking to be a struggle.

On that I've to ask - what's the story with Luke McGrath? In tunnel after he seemed very agitated and well ****** that he wasn't used more. Also surprised the 2 props didn't get proper time. And while I admit Munster are poor I think we are on an upward slope. I think the worst is still on the way for Leinster.

Well that was an awful show of rugby from all four provinces. I don't just blame MOC, I blame the players too and the lack of leadership being shown on the field. Also if we're going to get rid of MOC then I hope they get rid of the back room staff as well because they're not doing their job either. The quality of rugby has dropped nation wide. Week on week we are seeing turgid ****e that you'd expect at the grassroots level. The only route of attack from any Irish player is to put up the bomb and contest for territory. No proficiency in counter running or interlinking play. Boring, ugly stuff. Wouldn't mind if it was effective like Schmidt's Ireland!

It was pretty effective for Munster being honest. We played to our strengths.

That's true. I'm forgetting Munster won the game I'm just so focused on the poor performances of Leinster. Munster played well. Ugly, but it worked for them. Very physical and played an effective kick chase game. I could only dream of Leinster being as effective any time soon. For Munster they can take comfort in knowing they have guys like Van Den Heever, Earls etc out who can add another gear to their game. A backline 9. Murray 10. Keatley 11. Zebo 12. Hanrahan 13. Earls 14. Van Den Heever/Conway 15 Jones is quite exciting. But for Leinster, we have all our backs available bar McFadden and we have nothing to show for it.

The point I'm making though is if the players do carry out the plan correct then it will be effective. We can play our game as the coach realises we have the correct style of backs for it. MOC has a style that can be effective if the correct guys are there but his style needs 2 powerful centres and a bulldozing back row. When SOB returns it'll help and Teo'o may help too bit overall ye are like a team of squares try to fit in to a style of triangles.
On Munster I'm beginning to think even Zebo will be on his fetes as also out of those backs Howard May stay and O'Mahony is making big waves too.

Never managed to make it to Scotstoun today with working night-shift though watched the game on Sky. Bit of a scrappy game all round but a good win for Glasgow. That Matawalu try was never a forward pass and should have stood. Also very impressed with big Al Kellock today. A well deserved man of the match award.

And on the positive note I've managed to get myself tickets to the Bath v Glasgow game next month.

.

Yep with Liecester he had Manu and Alex as massive bulldozers and TBF it worked.

But we became limited to using those to so much.

Another Welsh derby, another godawful ref...

Bit of a dull one down in the Liberty.

Yea it's a limited plan. Simple and effective but you need the right personnel to do it. Luke Fitz isn't a battering ram 13 and Madigan isn't the style of 10/12 either to take it up.

So after this week, Ospreys remain top with Glasgow a point behind them. It really between 1st and 4th for Pro 12 champions I think. While it looks like Treviso are going to get they're first win off the tournament.

Standard Turks not liking to play tidy rugby. Meant the game became scrappy. Ospreys dire.

Other news, Rhodri Jones dislocated his shoulder during the game.
