Golden Lions v Lions

ah Barnes you lazy prick don't take the easy option and just name a man of the match, it's like the cop out last year in the All Ireland Final.

I'm metaphorically edging away from the Golden Lions... Golden Lions? Who are they eh? Highschool team? :p

The B&I Lions did very very verrry well though.

Hopefully my home team will do a lot better against the boys in red!

I don't think they're gonna get carried away with things given how poor the opposition were at times but there's elements there they can be hugely satisfied with, clinical for the most part in taking their chances and the intensity was pretty much constant as they emptied the bench.

Burger is an openside, South Africa put the openside in 6 and blindside at 7...I think I'm right.

expect fireworks at 8/9 with Ellis and Powell on as opposed to the mediocricty we were served up by Heaslip and Phillips![/b]
Almost missed the sarcasm and was on the brink of a scathing response :p
Stand-out performers were Croft, Phillips, Roberts and Kearney. I thought Jones had an all-round more competent game than O'Gara against allegedly superior opposition. Also impressed with Mears.
Although he scored two tries I think Monye has shown he won't be anywhere near the test 22.

BOD screwed up for their try. Won't make the test spot.

Ref was biased against the Goldens.

Lions lucky, IMO.

End the tour now, before it gets embarassing.

Good solid performance, the pack was solid, Jenkins and Vickery (yes OMG) were outstanding and Mears threw the ball in well. AWJ and Hines looked great. Phillips, Jones, Roberts, BOD and Bowe were good in the backs also.

AWJ was captain when BOD went off, interesting that.

I'd love to know how many try's Bowe was involved in. He was everywhere tonight. If I were picking the man of the match. I'd give it to him.

Seeing as Barnes is too much of a *** to do it...I'm making it official.

Sky Sports Official Man of the Match goes to Tommy Bowe

great showing from the b&i lions. opposition was disjointed, but b&i played much better together.

todd clever coming on for the golden lions - believe that makes him first american to play against the b&i lions.

Anyone know why Clever is not with the USA?

he had the choice, and he decided that if he were going to be in the 22 against the b&i lions - he'd stay in south africa for the match. coach said he was, so he stayed. he'll be back with the eagles asap for the summer matches.

Not a bad game. Will certainly give the Boks something to think about.

O'Driscoll, Bowe, Philips and O'Connell now seemed to have the slots cemented (early days I know, but very effective games). Outside of that I suppose I'd be looking at Heaslip, Al Wyn Jones and Roberts. Some favourites in other positions but a lot of players still have to get a game.

Intentionally. he's definately in pole position, but Kearney didnt f*** up and we dont know whats going on in training. Byrne would be my choice, but its not a clear choice, unlike the others (at the moment, still early days)
