Gloucester v Cardiff Blues

:D very happy they won, great team performance especially since they were down to 14 for around 3/4 of the game
who was Man of the Match? I didn't catch it, def should be Jamei Roberts, eh was superb all game, and should start against Scotland (preferably at 13, with Henson 12) in the Six Nations.

Yeah, what the hell was Azam doing rolling around on the floor? If it was a head butt, it wasn't that major but Azam collapses as if the guy had ripped out his spinal column!!!!

They should fine him or something. Make sure this pussy diving is stamped out of our wonderful game before it takes off. If the opposition get's red carded, it's gonna mean more players are gonna do it.

How come when two forwards throw a few punches, it's normally yellow cards, yet when a back leans in with the head (he didn't try and cause damage), it's instant red. I swear forwards get away with more foul play than backs.

well Cardiff well and truly answered the questions that were asked of them, there were obvious doubts remaining after the win in Biarritz as their domestic form is well below par but that's not the case for Gloucester and not many teams have won there in the Heineken Cup but to do so with 14 players for 50 minutes is outstanding so fair play to them and deservedly no. 1 seeds but they won't have an easy draw because of it.

They should've won by more aswell. Two Halfpenny penalties gone amiss and Spice's almost try. That's a potential 13 points gone missing. Gloucester well and truly beaten.

Jamie Roberts wa the official man of the match Thingimubob. He was quite simply awesome today in both attack and defence. Shurely a shoe in again Scotland now? I'd tend to agree with you, Henson 12-13 Roberts is the way to go.

Cardiff showed a lot of character, that's the most important thing. Could take them all the way.

Gloucester had a match winning moment, but they cocked it up. And their kicking didn't exploit the missing winger. Not good.

Could the blues try have been disallowed - penalty for stamping on a leg (not intentional) as he barged over? Whatever, they definitely deserved it.

Bradley Davies stamped on someone?:S no way could that have been intentional, since there could only have been only one thing on his mind - the tryline, so no way could that have disallowed it

yeah not even Lewis and his pernickity ways could have disallowed that try

Fantastic result. The atmosphere down in the shed was absolutely fantastic. Cardiff fans gave as good as they got on this occasion though.

Sort the lineout out and we can take on anyone now, when Rhys Thomas came on the lineout looked alot better. Like Dai said, not the finished article, but defiantly able to challenge.

What a week next week. Hope the Ospreys can beat Leicester now. I fancy Toulouse at the arms park. Revenge would be oh so sweet.

Cracking win for the Blues. Mouthwatering prospect of Blues v Ospreys 1/4 at the Mill.
Spice was absolutely appalling today though.

I hope not. All our hard work to get home advantage and we end up with a neutral ground!

Toulouse can only qualify as pool winners so no chance in them facing the Blues till the semi finals at least.

I agree, winning the competition is more important than cashing in on a big day out, no team will be intimidated by travelling to the Millenium Stadium for a quarter final especially when their allocation is at least 18000.

For me the Blues are lacking a quality 9, we tried for Du Preez and Weepu but both wanted to stay and play inernational rugby, but Du Preez said that if the Blues came calling again after the Lions Tour he would reconsider us! We are lacking a quality tighthead prop! Yes Powell did a standard job today but between him and Filise they are not good enough and with such a good backrow, second row and a quality loosehead prop the Blues need someone who can deal with being a class tighthead!

Gareth Williams is the better hooker but he was not at his usual standards today!

The disappointing thing is, all the board want is money. Thats why we are leaving the arms park.

The one thing in our favour is we are only allowed 1 game per year there, which we've had. So hopefully it wont come off. Id like to see one more quarter final in the last year of the arms park!

Hardly. It's in Cardiff and you use it for the big European occasions!

Yeah, but its the welsh stadium. Not the cardiff one. Our record isnt particularly good on it either. We are only allowed one game per season on the MS though. And thats because when the 6N is on, they use our pitch for hospitality marquees...

still though we had all the talk from the Ospreys of having the home semi final last year yet anyone with an ounce of sense knew that had it come to pass there would have been 60000 Munster fans to the 12000 Ospreys, not much of an advantage. With at least 18000 being allocated to the oppostion and bear in mind with it being one of the runners up, so a good chance of it being Leicester or Leinster, than they're likely to take at least the allocation given the occasion if not more. Take what advantage you can, 2500 away fans in the Arms Park is a lot less intimidating than tens of thousands in the Millennium Stadium.

Definitely. A full arms park is a great atmosphere and will only be a boost. I do fear that they will use the millennium stadium though, regardless of who it is.

It does depend on whether the pitch is even there and all sorts though.
