Tough, tough game for the new boys to start with.

Hard to see anything other than a good hiding for them at Headingly especially if Leeds hit the ground running again.

Would have been nice for Bridgend to get a home game to start their campaign ala Catalans who were given Wigan at home for their first SL game (whereupon Clown gifted them the win!). Would have helped get home attendance of to a reasonable start as well being the first game of the season.

Dont think theres a thrashing on the cards, underestimate the Crusaders at your peril!

Sorry Rob, can't see anything other than a heavy Leeds win. Though they are anything but invincible, despite what their fat headed fans say.

It's sort of a pity having this as the opener - it doesn't seem likely it'll be much of a showcase for the sport, although I'd be happily proven wrong...

Its gonna be tough for the crusaders all season and it doesnt get much tougher than Headingley. I think it will give the Crusaders a good indication of where they are and need to be. Crusaders are my team in Super League and I intend to watch some home games at least this summer. Should be nice to watch rugby without freezing your ******** off for a change!!

Channel Nine has the SL rights and the games on 1:30am Sunday here. I'm hoping to watch it if I can stay awake.

If the Crusaders don't loose by 30+, they'll have done well imo. It's gonna be such a massive change in quality for them from last season. All the Aussies only arriving this week won't have helped either.

It could be a bit of a drubbing tonight. Depends on how much Leeds put into it I guess. With all due respect to the Crusaders, the league leader's spot has been decided on points difference twice recently, so it's in Leeds' best interests to target the weaker teams.

Leeds have many injures and Steve-O said yesterday that the Crusaders are no mugs!

28 - 6 to Leeds.

Much better in the second half from the Crusaders but much work is to be done if they're to compete, especially with ball in hand.

I'd say they proved they can play at this level - maybe not compete, but they can certainly play. They ought to give some of the lesser SL sides a hard time.

Far better game than I thought it would be and the Crusaders did themselves proud in the second 40.

Good reffing from Thaler as well... I've seen too many games ruined by over pedantic refs but Thaler allowed this one to flow the best he could.

Have to say that Ryan O'Hara really caught my eye last night. If he plays like that all the time then the Crusaders have got themselves a very good prop indeed.

You can tell that they have something about them,be interesting to see how they go on after some proper training sessions!

First half definitely showed Crusaders where they were lacking. They couldn't really put together any offense and were getting hammered while on defense. Second half, though, they pulled it together and showed a much better attack and much better defense. I personally think Leeds are the one who have to look at themselves and say "Boys we've got some work to do," especially with the match against Manly coming up in less than a month. I think this was a good start from the Celtic Crusaders and think that they will, in the end, prove themselves worthy of inclusion into the SL. I'm excited about this season, as I will be steadily following it for the first time.

So how's all this going down in Wales? Is it completely overshadowed by the start of the 6 Nations, or is it getting some decent coverage?
