Franchise day 1

Dan if they were liquidated they would not exist. They went into administration and were sold onto a new financial backer.

As far as I know the old company was liquidated and the assets (the Crusaders) were bought by this new company.

And by the way, in Super League, they have been known as:

Celtic Crusaders
Crusaders RL
The Crusaders

All this is a bit pointless - it's like arguing which is a deeper shade of blue.

Agree to disagree.

But you are wrong on the name changes. They were first known as the Celtic Crusaders as you rightly point out, when they moved to Wrexham they changed to Crusaders RL with the change of badge and kit colours.

If you want to be really picky, they changed names and sports when Warriors went bust. Could say they have something of form for running out of money, regardless of what they're playing and where these days.

No denying that. Can't help but think the WRU did not help the Celtic Warriors. At the time the Warriors were the easy target because of poor facilities. In reality they had a squad that was full of future Welsh internationals. On both occasions there is one man that was at the centre of the problems and that was Leighton Samuels.

That was Leighton Samuel again wasn't it?

Saying that, on the money front maybe the RFL should never have allowed the Crusaders to enter with Samuels at the helm.

The one and only - Celtic Crusaders were a reformation of Celtic Warriors.

Samuel even described them as "the reincarnation of the Warriors franchise"!
