Looked bad from most replays and him being low wasn't a mitigation. He turned sideways and dropped the shoulder into his head. Perma red the right call IMO and fair play to Gardner for eventually making the call and not passing the buck to the TMO even if he did seem unsure at first.

Side note - subscribed to TNT just for these test matches. The amount of ads at half time is horrendous. It was 2 mins of analysis and then just non-stop ads.
