France v Scotland

Maybe they will put Jackson in at 12?

That gives you Dan's consistency and Jackson's attacking flair.

Later research has shown Jack Cuthbert is not as competent as I believed. I can only apologise. Care to give me a 12 because the options are horrendous!

Southwell? Played some his earlier Scotland matches at 12. Plus could mean we get benefit of his defence, boot and improving attack combined with Rory Lamont's better attack from 15. Add in Ansbro at 13, Max and Sean on the wings and we may even see a, ssh, whisper it, a try

Worth mentioning also that SA murdered France and then went on to fall foul of Scotland. That said, the two games were 5 months apart and France had to travel at the end of a long season while Scotland had favourable conditions at home. That and the fact that you never can tell with the French.

All in all, at least it is likely to be a contest and worth a watch for a neutral spectator. I am backing the underdog. Not sure who that is so I'll go with the IRB rankings.

That's a good shout, in fact it is starting to make me wonder why we never did this in the first place (that is use Southwell at 12 as opposed to Morrison), seeing as distribution is niether of the players strong points, whilst Southwell is pretty much better in every department compared to Morrison. It's not like we have any combination chemistry to lose after 10.

Good to see Mermoz in there, on fire for Perp atm
But quite a few of the others around him seem out of place.

Scotland by 5

Edit: Nope bugger its in France. France will stroll it. I dont care how good Scotland think they are, they wont believe they can win in France.

Aye, it's impossible to predict what France will do,
Could walk it, could get smashed, you never know until they start playing

I quite like that French team. The center pairing is very strong and big and Traille at full-back the boot the ball a distance - remember Scotland do like to kick.

Think everybody needs to remember that it will be a totally french team to the one that played in the autumn in the way that they approach the games. Wouldnt get scottish hopes too high this ones going to be very tough!

do you mean different?

Pointrenaud - benched??? What is the point having specialist full-back on bench. Traille on bench good idea because he can cover 10, 12, 13 and 15, but not Test level starting full-back. Play him at 13 and Rougerie on the wing. Also, Scotland playing kicking rugby and Pointrenaud would give the edge because of his running style. France have so much talent at back division, but I don't know that Lievremaunt is thinking.

No he can't. He's a bloody useless flyhalf.

Traille is a centre and nothing else. Ever time he plays fly half he is crap. Even against Ulster his decision making and execution was awful. He is no way near as good a fullback as Poitrenaud. Luckily the pack is beasty and Para should steer then to victory
