Well done Romania. Its the biggest upset of the day in terms of ranking position.

It was a great victory for Romania, it was obvious to me from the first tackle that our boys were very determined and they believed they can win. The Oaks defended very well and forced the Tongans to play to the Romanian strengths for much of the match. Head coach Lynn Howells should also get a lot of credit, as he continues to be unbeaten at the helm of the national team. The improved domestic league is also a big factor, 10 of the starters play in the Superliga but they were in no way inferior to their opponents from more established championships. I thought that the referee was very biased against Romania but that doesn't matter any more.

Congrats to Georgia as well, it was a great day for the ENC and hopefully this performance will be noticed by the IRB.
