Not sure if that's why he went in so slow on his third, and seemed to want to get the ball away so someone else could score, but it seemed as if even he was embarrassed to be scoring a hat trick. Two off the tail of lineouts and one stroll in...First off I feel like a massive *** as, moments after my disparaging comments about Bill Bulinpola's (or whatever we're calling him now) butter fingers he scored a hatrick.
As has been mentioned CONSUR were much more of a challenge than the Barbarians or even the South African Barbarians on the tour last year. With that in mind it is pretty positive that an England 2nd XV (and arguably the starting team weren't even England's 2nd XV) got a solid win. We looked good in attack, with Foden really adding that go forward from 15 that has been missing since last years Six Nations and Eastmond looking very promising at 12. Indeed we've suddenly gone from having the much maligned (unfairly so I think) Barritt as our only international inside centre to potentially having Twelvetrees and Eastmond battling it out over the shirt.
It wasn't a perfect performance by any means. The scum demonstrated how much work we need to do to develop strength in depth in the tight five while the difference Kvesic made when he came on was indicative of how important a player he's is going to be for England. Also, while our defense was fairly solid (I know some won't agree with this) we seemed to have far too much space in behind with CONSUR exploiting us with little chips over the defensive line on a number of ocassions (including for the best of their tries). Something Argentine might well look to exploit too.
All in all though a great game to watch (I'm tempted to watch more games in foreign languages now) and a solid start to the tour for England.
Into a subpar premiership lock...?Kvesic has been extremely disruptive at the breakdown in both matches, I'm hoping he developes in the mould of Hooper.
I think he is a similar player, time will tell if he can be of the same quality.
Generally agree.
Billy has been in poor form since announcing his move to Saracens, although he has been reasonably effective despite this.
I think in time Kyle could potentially be a great foil for 36, although he is obviously very raw.
I also feel for Barritt, people focus on his limitations, and gloss over the fact that there isn't really anyone demonstrably better defensively in world rugby.
To be fair, Henry Thomas is the weakest of our potential future tight heads in the scrum.

Definitely a strange game, very enjoyable in patches.
I'm still not sure how the tests are going to pan out...
