England Six Nations Squad 2025

Well, for years the England Football team was picked by marketing guys wanting certain players for their advertising and I do think there is some pressure to play players that do not suit the SB way, just because they bring in the cash.
I am not saying they don't deserve to play, but there is conflict between the coach's game plan and the needs of the marketing guys and this is causing major comprimises in the gameplay.
A] I know nothing about the England football team.
B] The England rugby team isn't the England football team.
C] I don't believe you about the football team, let alone the rugby team. It sounds like pure conspiracy theory BS to me.
D] I can absolutely see that Borthwick isn't picking the players he wants, because the players he wants don't exist (or at least, aren't EQP - including those who retired from international rugby by moving to France) - that has nothing to do with the marketing men, and the only thing it has to do with anything imposed upon Borthwick, is the "play in England" things that's been done to death here.

Going forward Roebuck absolutely has to be ahead of Sleightholme in the pecking order. He actually makes the kicking game plan pay off.

I also know that Freeman in the centres doesn't make a huge amount of sense and there are loads of logical arguments against it but fundamentally the idea of a Lawrence-Freeman pairing does just excite me and I want to see it given a run.

Also Pollock might already be the GOAT.

Some really really exciting players in this squad. Finn smith been a revelation at 10 the game runs so much smoother. Might be unpopular but I also dont mind smith at 15 think there is really high upside with that and failing that as an impact of the bench is a good role. Back row just continues to pump class players.

I remain unconvinced by borthwick as a coach as it will take more than a tournament where there were still moments of the really poor tactical decisions and the selection of say slade well past the point it was obvious he was done at this level, we are a penalty score from only having two wins, but I hope he proves the goods for the rest of the year and proves my reservations foolish. But I am really excited by our player pool.

Still concerned by Borthwick's selections. This is one of the worst Welsh teams in decades. Against a better team I feel it would gave bitten us royally in the arse.

Roebuck definitely needs to start in the summer.
Centres is still an issue. Dingwall will start, but Borthwick needs to find the right partner for him.
FB also uncertain. Smith hasn't played badly, but I don't think he's been truly tested either. Welsh kicking wasn't good enough.
At hooker, Langdon should get a shot because I'm still not convinced by Dan or LCD and George seems to be out of favour.

M Smith is lucky that he will be likely be involved as N.2 for F Smith for the next few years as there doesn't feel like another young FH of their quality is on the horizon.
Yeah, next who might get there is U18s, so the Smiths have a good 4 years fighting each other before we can judge if he's actually making it.

Yeah, but I'd still like another option who plays there regularly. Carpenter seems to be the best of the rest and should get a shot in the summer.
Yep, Carpenter, then De Glanville would be the next FBs in line for me.
Not sure I'm too bothered if they're missing out to Furbank, Marcus and Steward though

Pearson the Tigers u20 FB looked good

Redshaw might be worth a look... he'll be away from us soon to a decent side.

Ollie Davies is supposedly very good - u18s but was brought into the u20s when Coen was recalled by Exeter

Do you think Carpenter is in the equation for the summer? He must be in the sights of the coach's as he was picked for the A game ...

Furbank is the man when he eventually returns.

Or move Roebuck to 15...sorry I'll get my coat

I hope he makes the tour, at least
It depends if Marcus goes on lions - Furbank will start and Daly will be in the 23, if Marcus is with England there's probably no room for Carpenter as a 4th fullback
