Someone should be saying to Jamie "Steady pinocchio you'll have my eye out".According to Jamie George on the BBC podcast, Steve is the one picking them up for not playing heads up rugby, and it's THEM that revert to the kick fest tactics….

If true F Smith should be shot into space and Marcus given back the 10 jersey. He's the only one following team orders. The only reason that has the ring of truth to it is that I literally cannot image any coach instructing us to kick high to a wing and FB the size of our locks.
IF that really was the case then drop F Smith, or at least move him to 15, and give Itoje bucketloads of stick as the on field leader.
All of the above please? It was Mitchell kicking, so drop Mitchell and keep F smith.
Or maybe drop the forwards providing slow ball? Or maybe get a decent attack coach?
Seemed like every phase early onI can't agree with that. Mitchell is heads up rugby and he literally did a box kick every 3 phases.
I think a England most capped players XV (By position) I think is
1. Marler, 2. George, 3. Cole
4. Johnson, 5. Itoje
6. Lawes, 7. Worsely , 8. Loz
9. Youngs, 10. Farrell
12. Tindall, 13. Guscott
11. Underwood, 14. May, 15. Lewsey
16. Hartley, 17. Mako, 18. Leonard
19. Kay, 20. Haskell
21. Care, 22. Ford, 23. Tuilagi
Honestly kinda meh looking
I'm always a bit confused by how many most-capped players came out of the Lancaster-Jones-Borthwick era. Very few of those players spring to mind as England legends, but is that because they're too fresh in the memory? Because they weren't successful enough? Is it just a product of the modern world's sport science and player pathways?I think a England most capped players XV (By position) I think is

Also having coaches who refused to drop certain players. Two main things. There are more test matches and better medical care/player welfare means modern players have longer careers.
Think Mike Brown has considerably more caps than Lewsey, no?I think a England most capped players XV (By position) I think is

But he WAS a 13.Guscott always wore 12…
Yep, but he wore 12.But he WAS a 13.
Tindall also wore 12 but he was an outside centre. This is because Bath didn't have a number 13 back in the day due to superstition.Yep, but he wore 12.![]()
