I just think that England bowling attack will pick up wickets easier than the South Africans and that 88 run lead will certainly come in handy.

SA 202-6, SImon Jnes just had a hatrick ball, didnt get it. Slow morning session, looking good for England now though.

That's been three hat trick efforts this weekend with Ntini and McGrath as well. England have picked up another wicket.

Bowled em out for 229, need 142 to win.

Jones had a 7 over spell, 4 for 18, brilliant.

Ours to lose now.

Nervy start Trescothick out first ball to Pollock. Close LBW call on the second as well.

Clever play by Smith to get the umpires to suspend play for the day, all they need now is for the heavens to open. Although it looks like the rain may come too late. Should be over by the end of the first hour.

England didn't waste any time this morning with Strauss especially tearing into the South African attack scoring 43 of the 52 runs and winning by 7 wickets.

They're on a roll in test cricket, but suffer in ODI's. NZ have the direct opposite problem.

TOp stuff, 7 wicket victory, 8th in a row.

Strauss was MOTM

England's ODI form has picked up a lot this year as well, geting to the final of the ICC thing.

It was a good victory for England especially after the hiccup against the A team and should give them plenty of momentum for the Stephen's day test.

Andrew Strauss

Full Name: Andrew John Strauss
Born: 2 March 1977, Johannesburg, Transvaal, South Africa
Major Teams: Middlesex, England.

....Born in Johannesburg, Strauss moved to England to learn the game at Radley College and Durham University....

so thats sounds like 13 then.

Didn't know that.

I hope his mum isn't out there; someone will throw her from a balcony...

Interesting to know that Strauss is/was South African...pity he didnt stay here, we need some decent players...

I honestly can not tell you what has happened to South African Cricket. I mean we used to have the best bowlers in the world, Donald, Pollock, Cronje...etc
Now all we have is a rape convict in Ntini, a shadow of his former self in Pollock, a very average swing bowler in Hall, occasionally a half decent bowler in Nel, another half decent bowler in Langveldt, an below average bowling pair in Kallis and de Bruyn, our best spinner wouldn't make 'Australia C,' and now a so called speedster in Steyn....
This attack is absoultly kak!

Our batters are just as bad.... Smith only preforms against Bangladesh/kenya/zim and teams of that ability, Gibbs is not a shoddow of his former self, AB de Villiers is ok but wouldnt make it into an Austrlian or English line up, Rudolph is yet to impress me at test level, dippennaar is ok..., Amla looks like he should be playing for Pakistan but is going to be ok..., and kallis is struggling but is our best batsmen.

Our current keeper is kak, Thami Tsolekile, who is this guy? Mark Boucher is way better then Thami, and Morne van Wyk is even better the Boucher (mainly because he is also a great opening batsmen), and de villiers is in between boucher and Thami.....

South African Cricket lost the plot after it's best ever captain Hansie Cronje was sacked. He made a stupid mistake, but he was our best ever leader and since his departure, the Proteas are not as good as Australia, England, New Zealand, Sri Lanka, India, nor the West Indies....That makes us a dismal 7th in the world!

Personally i think the Proteas will not win a single of the 5 tests against England...
