England EPS 2017/18 edition.

I can only assume that it's one of
A] "Numbers don't matter" and they'll chop and change
B] That he doesn't want Brown on the bench in case Daly is cruelly exposed (wants to be able to make changes without using a sub)
C] The plot has been well and truly lost, and there's just no way back from here.

I can understand not picking Cokanasiga there in case of being exposed by Tuisova/Radradra, Josua particularly...

In which case, it's a straight choice between Brown and Solomona... I'm happy enough for Drunken Denny to get fewer minutes devaluing the Enlgand shirt

Some say age is just a number, I guess for Jones position is also just a number.

He's played on the wing before hasn't he?
Was that under Lancaster or early on for Jones?

He was there for the 2012 win against the ABs and I think a couple of others around that time. Among the euphoria of that win it got overlooked that he got completely skinned on a couple of occasions. He wasn't the right choice then and its nuts now especially in a late season frolic.

Which Tyler, it's option c.

And surely Genge should be starting. Glad to see Mercer getting a chance.

TBF Jack Nowell got skinned by a few All Blacks aswell and people would still play him on the wing.

That's right I compared Nowell to Brown on the wing, come at me bro.

Rugby Press don't half sprout some ********.
Eddie has a bad six nations and every has gone to pot.

Mind seems alot of Rugby supporters buy into the press crap.

Two things are certain in life English press and public desperate to under mine the national team and Leicester tigers being in the top....... Well one thing is certain in life.

Edit and let's face it if Woodward wanted to play for England he wouldn't have signed for Gloucester.

The article is rubbish in that this match is an irrelevance. But it also poses some very valid questions. If the SA tour is a mess then it's fair to put Jones under some proper scrutiny.

Interesting that Mako and Itoje looked twice the players for Sarries last week than they have for Eng in a while. Ditto Kruis. It's not just that it was club level they had a real spring in their step and looked up for it. Ditto Kruis.

Haha. Nice comment on Woodward.

Really wanted to see cockanasiga on the bench and im just not sure on solomona though hes great in attack but is is defence got better? Brown on the wing is bit pointless especially in a baabaas game.

11 daly
14 may
15 woodward

23 Cockansiga

Would be my choice. Want to try daly at fb then do that in second half talking may or woodward off as pretty sure woodward has played wing. Just see how they get on where as brown is solid but passed it we need him around but need to find a replacement.

Solomona's defence has never been an issue in the prem.
Was proper proper shithouse in Argentina, mind, but I've never seen it like that before or after.

Should 100000000% be starting over Brown (though I'd be starting Cokanasiga with Denny on the bench)

I still don't get Brown on the wing. It's the kind of switch you'd do if you had a set squad but you wanted to rotate - like if you were in the world cup and needed to rest a winger vs Uruguay or something, so you just stick Brown there. We've got so many talented wingers and we decide to put ******* Brown there. Is EJ considering playing Daly at 15 with Brown on the wing in South Africa? It's the only explanation I can think of, but it's gonna give me night terrors.

He said in an interview that he's wanted to try it for a while...

I think it's just a case of he wants Daly at FB but has Brown in there as well in case it goes balls up/to give Daly some stability. Personally I'm ok with that. I'd much rather ease Daly in at 15 so that he could play there come the RWC than chuck in Solomona, Cokonasiga or Earle who have good potential but realistically won't play much/any part in the RWC. With just over a year to go, the RWC needs to be our focus; not giving young players game time in a match that realistically, even if they do very well in, people will just say "oh well it was only against the BaBaas."

My issue with the team for the BaaBaa's is that when it's a clear chance to give other players a chance, the same areas still have the same people in.

Full Back: Daly with Brown covering. Woodward should have been given a chance.
SH: Youngs, Robson should be starting for me, because I don't see him starting in SA. What's the point in taking a player just to cover then bench while Care is rested?
6: Robshaw. Maybe Jones wants some experience with Mercer and Curry there, but again we need another option unless Jones is set on Lawes or Itoje.

Instead the new caps are Stooke and Singleton who let's face it are only there because of injuries and the Premiership final.

I guess Trinder is a step forward, but I don't see him being in Eddie Jones' plans long term. Mercer is the only selection I'm really happy with, but again I feel when Hughes and Vunipola are fit, he won't get a look in.

No injuries. (that we know of!)

That Saracens side is just so dominant. England should be taking as much of their player base/game plan as possible. Don't think it's a coincidence that when Saracens stopped playing winning rugby and briefly weren't the Prem Champs is when England didn't win the 6N. They breed so much confidence within that team.
