England and Wasps flanker Tom Rees has been forced to retire at the age of 27 because of a serious knee injury.

While sad, I'm not surprised.
It's a massive shame he was blighted with so many injuries, as he had to potential (and showed in patches) to be a world class international player.

A significant loss to the game, albeit more in a what-could-have-been way. Always seemed to be earmarked for the big C, a shame he never got a fair crack at the whip.

On a personal note, as i'm currently in the middle of a lengthy course of physio for a ruptured ACL, seems that hopes of stepping on the field again have been dealt a blow!

Always sad to see a talented player have to retire through injury, must have been pretty hard spending next to two years on the rehab table.

Echo the sentiments above, could have been a great player. An utter shame it didn't work out for him.
