Thanks - was looking at making a quickish getaway after the game as we will have a toddler there - so nothing close by then I guess?
that shudnt b 2 much trouble as the game shud b well & truly over by then...u want hear the pish our managment team r coming out wit..they must tink we're from planet pluto or sumting..its a disgrace, tryin 2 cover up a failed managment system & in the process the team!!Not really. Unless you want to walk for ages and even then the traffic will be parked up for miles. Much of the area around Eden Park is residential so it's fairly restricted. Public transport will be your best bet anyway if you want to get out of there quickly - just leave before the final whistle.
Try St Lukes shopping centre. It's as per this comment. I'm parking out there early or if you can google maps Gribblehirst park there's usually a few spots in or around the residential area OR in the park itself. (Unless the Eden Rugby have reserved it's spaces - which is most likely)Last match i was at i parked at foodtown shopping centre and you have to walk a couple blocks to get to the stadium but this was a year ago. Considering it's a world cup year compared to a one off test match you most likely won't find any parking. I would think public transport is the best bet although it seems Auckland is overcrowding in that area too. I honestly don't know how they are handling it because when i was studying there it was chaotic enough with the locals.
