The Scottish presence in the Sale pack next season has increased as prop ALASDAIR DICKINSON has signed up to the Sharks Revolution from Gloucester.

The 27 year old prop leaves Kingsholm to join compatriots Richie Vernon and Fraser McKenzie in the powerful force of Steve Diamond's newly-assembled forward collection.

Happy enough with that, we're a little short on looseheads (especially with Sheridan away with England at the start of the season) and as far as I know Dickinson is a decent prop?

Meanwhile, Sale Sharks 21 year old centre Jonny Kennedy has decided to retire from the sport, for medical reasons after receiving a series of concussions during his short career.

Never been a big fan of Kennedy's (always thought he was there because of his surname....) however it's always a shame to see someone forced out of the game through injury

Dickinson is ok, but when you can't oust Jacobsen from the Scotland No. 1 shirt you got to think. He will be a good asset for the Sharks mind.

Dickinson is a poor signing for Sale. He's quite good around the park, but is like the Scottish Tony Buckley at scrums, also will be away for the Rugby World Cup as he is Scotland's second choice loosehead.

I know Sheridan has been injury prone the last couple of years, but I think a player like Tom Mercey or Rhys Gill who would be available all season would be more useful.

Anyway if Newcastle struggle again next season and are relegated, I think Sale will sign all their best players and get Golding, Murray, Gopperth, Hudson and Manning probably.

Aye, I've heard that he's like a thinner Buckley

Bit sh*t then really, as we've got no scrummaging looseheads (Sheridan not great, Imiolek OK but only 20 so still learning his game, Croall is alright but is never used, and now Dickinson who is poo)
Would've loved to have signed Golding

Ah well, 1 more signing this week and a re signing too (I'm hoping the re sign is Paul Williams) hopefully the new signing is good :p
