There is an ongoing rumour on this thread that he's coming to Bath in England? Any comment from Crusaders fans as to this being an option. Bath have plenty on dosh, but, not possibly within the "cap" system if you compare what DC earned at Perpignan as a reference.

I would've thought that if he were to head north it would be to Perpignan (though they have just signed Hook)

Almost definitely pure speculation, but would certainly be interesting!

I can only imagine if Dan does go that it will be to a french team rather than an English team but you never know.

I'm pretty confident that Dan will head off after the world cup but will probably try and be back in time for 2015.

I also think it will be la douce France for DC, he said several times he likes it a lot and he could earn more.

I know it's not definite but the NZRFU said they were pretty confident of re-signing a group of the top stars like Carter & McCaw, even SBW. They were close to it apparently.

I thought thee was an agreement with Perpignan a when he left that they had first dibs on him if he decided to go back to France, of course could easily be wrong but I could have sworn there was one in place.

I can't see him leaving NZ personally. 6 months sabbatical to USAP again at best.

For selfish reasons I hope he goes to USAP for 6 months or so. Hook could learn a sh*t load from him!

Rumour has it that Hook is moving in on the same road that my parents live on - into the same complex as Ben Farrar and Scott Dureau live (Catalans Dragons players)

do get the feeling his international record is important to him. Money shouldn't be too much of an issue as he will already be paid big money by the NZRU and he has sponsorship with the likes of Rexona, Adidas & Jockey. Plus he got a lot of cash for that season in france even though he only managed ~4 games?

No doubt I think he would want another go in the heineken cup. But more likely another 6 month contract rather than a 2+ year deal. No reason why he wouldn't be able to aim for the 2015 world cup for the AB's. and by that time there wont be many test rugby records he wont have.

The point is that if NZ wins the RWC DC has won anything he could win in the SH, one year abroad is a financial investment and he can still come back for the next RWC.

I'm not sure whether he will get more money at Perp (definitely wouldn't in the Aviva) - Aren't him and McCaw the most highpaid All Blacks?
I'm sure I read, that through sponsorship deals and the such such organized by NZRFU that they make as much as any superstar in France - and he'd lose these sponsorships if he left
