The First Division starts in the same weekend as the Premier Division. Despite the best efforts by especially the Eastern Province Kings, there were no promotions to and relegations from the Premier Division. Because of that, we have to see the same 6 teams battle for the spots on top.

What will it be this year?

Eastern Province will be pushing hard for promotion again.
Luke is onboard next season, right?

What S15 club would EP be part of? Still the 'Southern Kings'?

Yes. I think it's ridiculous that the provincial clubs in the South (EP, Border) aren't part of the Sharks franchise. However, with Puke Watson going to EP, it's better this way ;)

Not like he would even be first (second, third, fourth, fifth) choice back row with us.
If they do get promoted, I wonder how that will affect the chance of the Kings in joining the S15.
Only if SA drop one province, IMO.

The Super15 should not be expanded again. Either the 2 provincial sides (EP and Border) without a franchise should join us, or they should replace one of the other franchises. But neither will ever happen. We will have a Super16 in a few years. Unless 1 of the Australian teams is replaced by the Southern Kings

Eastern Province used to fall under the Sharks, until the whole issue of the Southern Kings cropped up
We got some damn good players from that region, Kankowski for one

It was so dissapointing last year, seeing EP Kings make it to the play-offs, and then miss out on promotion despite playing in front of a home crowd of just under 40 000
It's an overused phrase, but you could see the passion of the supporters in the stands, they were absolutely gutted when they didn't get through

Some teams just have to play at the highest level. EP is one of them, Boland, in my opinion, the other one.
