Halftime in Christchurch with the Crusaders holding a 14-5 advantage.

Both teams taking advantage of the excellent conditions and running the ball at every chance. The Crusaders have looked more dangerous with the ball, particularly on the counterattack. The Chiefs were very fortunate with their opening try through the bounce of the ball off a Donald kick.

Crusaders 14 (Tim Bateman, Casey Laulala tries; Colin Slade 2 conversions).

Chiefs 5 (Richard Kahui try).

14-13 crusaders 5 mins left. I just saw that this game was on with 10 mins left :(
19-13 crusaders try at the 80 min mark

Fulltime and the Crusaders win 19-13. Casey Laulala was excellent. Stephen Donald made some pretty poor decisions and his kicking in general play was off. The Chiefs simply couldn't take their chances in the end and the Crusaders eventually worked themselves into a position to give Laulala his second try on fulltime.

Crusaders 19 (Casey Laulala 2, Tim Bateman tries; Colin Slade 2 conversions).

Chiefs 13 (Lelia Masaga, Richard Kahui tries; Stephen Donald penalty).

Everyone in NZ can see this except Graham Henry.

there was some very bad kicking in this game from both teams. plenty of little mistakes too that can be put down to the early season rust and will improve in the next few games. laulala was a handful all game for the chiefs and he looks in good form. chiefs had plenty of chances in this game but the last pass or a little knock on ruined a lot of their more promising moves.

Laulala was good but his passing after he made a break was a bit off. Both teams made some stupid handling errors especially when taking the ball into contact.

Having said that there were also a couple of examples of brilliant handling like when Richard Kahui scored his try and from Latimer (I think) after a Sione Lauaki run.
