Crusaders have completed their second signing in 48 hours following the capture of Wales back-row Andy Bracek.

The 24-year-old former St Helens and Warrington forward joins the Wrexham club on an 18-month contract.

That is the same length of deal that former Leeds and Hull utility back Jordan Tansey penned 24 hours earlier.

Bracek, who recently played for Championship club Barrow, has a knee injury and is not expected to return to action for at least two months.

Crusaders coach Iestyn Harris said: "Andy is a great signing for us. I've worked with him through the Wales set-up and he's a powerful player with a great off-load.

"We are a little bit light in the back-row at the moment so Andy will add size and power to our pack. He's also skilful for a big man and I have always been impressed with his willingness to knuckle down and work hard."

Bracek, who made 57 senior appearances for St Helens and Warrington, won three caps for Wales and was named in Harris' 2010 European Cup squad before pulling out through injury.

"It is great to be back in Super League and playing with the Crusaders," Bracek said.

"I had offers from other clubs but, after talking to Iestyn Harris and speaking to people at the club, I knew the Crusaders was the right move for me.

"I've played under Iestyn Harris with Wales, he's a great coach and I am looking forward to playing for him once again."

Crusaders are currently bottom of Super League, having won one of their six games this season, and go to third-placed Castleford on Sunday.
