I long for the day where something like this just isn't news because absolutely nobody cares.

As it is, it still takes guts, and he has my full respect for coming out.

(FTR, I have the same feeling towards announcements of people being a ref or coach whilst being female - it's a sad indictment of society that it's newsworthy)

Good for him. It shouldn't matter but unfortunately it still does, and every high profile person who comes out makes it less and less of a big deal, and moves us slightly closer to the point where, literally, no one cares.
