Courtney Lawes named Investec Man of the Series
Members of the rugby and sporting media have voted Courtney Lawes as their Investec Man of the Series for his performances throughout England’s Investec Internationals in November. Courtney’s power and athleticism during the series saw him beat off stiff competition from Ben Youngs, Chris Ashton and Andrew Sheridan.
As part of the award Investec are donating £1,000 to Courtney’s charity of choice, Help for Heroes, which supports members of the armed forces who have been wounded in the services of their country.
On receiving the accolade, Courtney said:
"It’s an exciting time to be involved in the England set up and I thought the boys made encouraging progress in November’s Investec Internationals. Winning the Investec Man of the Series award means a great deal to me being voted for, as it is, by people involved the game.
I’d like to thank Investec both for the award and for the £1,000 prize which I would like to donate to Help for Heroes. It’s a charity that I feel very strongly about and am delighted to be able to support them."
