Why oh why didn't the WRU snap him up for the role of 'head of development'. No matter what he has done wrong in his coaching career, he's always been able to spot talent from a mile off. He has bought so many youngsters through the ranks at both Neath and Ospreys, spotting the likes of Shane Williams. He was the one who said come the 2007 WC Alun-Wyn and Ian Evans would be first choice locks (before they'd played a game of regional rugby) and he would have been right but from Ian Evans injuring his shoulder.

Missed opportunity.
