Great to see him back, but will this impact his ability to play in France if Bristol play matches in European competitions?
I assume it wouldn’t as still covered by his English club insurance.
I’m a bit surprised he’s back playing, in all honesty.

True but when you lose Piutau, Randradra ect. Youd do well to replace them and look stronger. And actually pretty balanced with playmakers power and pace.
I agree although i rate BJVR highly
I don't think Radradra is that big of a loss tbh, he was frequently injured and when he wasn't he was trying too hard/looked on a different wave length to everyone around him on attack and defence
Had a lot of good games, don't get me wrong, but BJVR is an upgrade and will cost a lot less
Malins for Piutau is hardly like for like, though
Be interesting to see what kind of form he brings - Excellent for Saracens, rubbish for England, though not the only player whose form has dropped off a cliff in an England shirt
One position that we're forgetting, that will impact that backline massively:
HC: Pat Lam

Also good to read he turned down a chance to play rugby for Leeds Rhinos because they couldnt offer him a chance to go to uni aswell. Good to see Gourlay land a contract, was very surprised we let him go, but I guess at 10 he's behind Ford/RdP/Curtis, at 12 he's behind Tuilagi, Bedlow, L.James, Curtis and at 15 he's behind Carpenter, Veianu, L.James

He was defo there when I looked a couple of weeks ago - I thought it was weird at the time as other signings were updated on there
Yeah, I thought he'd go abroad - he's been pretty outspoken in the past about player salaries so presumed he'd go to France or Japan after the RWC and this whole will he/won't he was just to get the RFU to pay his wages over the summer so that he could go to the RWC
I feel he prob has the Lions in his sight.
Borthwick has prob also told him he's in his plans post RWC

The only reason he wouldn’t be is injuries. Class apart from our other options.
Glad his future’s been sorted, if slightly surprised it’s over here.
Look forward to the day Tigers field a back 3 of Watson, Brown and Steward so we can all argue about who’s best under the high ball, who’s too slow and who doesn’t play 15 for their club.
