I honk JTA is a good player - while his scrummaging leaves a bit to be desired I think you’re being a little harsh in saying it’s ‘really bad’.
I do agree that Ulster should have invested that money differently though.
For a club aspiring to challenge for silverware, Warwick is not near good enough to be the starting loosehead. Tighthead is a bit better with Moore. O’Sullivan and O’Toole haven’t quite lived up to their promise yet and are much better in the loose than they are in the scrum which makes JTA a curious addition. Dominant scrummaging props are what is needed so JTA is not really solving a problem, he’s adding to it.
