Colin Slade vs the Hurricanes

Yah, Colin Slade, piece of magic.

Now seriously, good game this, even the Canes are attacking all right (defenses are awful though)

On this match alone i would drop Barrett and bring Slade back into the AB's Barrett is good but imo needs more development. Slade has been amazing in this match. He has clearly been directing alot of whats going on in this particular match. You can see him talking to the other big name players in the team. Everything has been outstanding from kicking, defence and attack. He was clearly down on confidence before but the last few games you could see it coming back.

I know alot of others on here will not agree though.

Looks like Slade was just tore up by the Canes. Ouch. Amazed he got up from that one.

If he didnt injure himself in that collision he could be over the made of glass reputation he has had previously.

Well, he just made a good kick, so I'm guessing he's not suffering from that hit. It looked (and sounded) terrible, though.

If i cut a finger off for every game Aaron Smith has lost the highlanders this year i wouldnt be able to type this message!!

Highlanders are napping!

Slade leaving the game - maybe that hit did take a toll.

Just a corked thigh i think. They should leave A. Smith off they play better without him and with only 14 men!

That last try was quite funny. Andre hore what an idiot.

Aaron Smith is the biggest joke on defence i have ever seen.

I wont say anymore about him as it will just disgust me further!

That was a ridiculous try what is this Ref on he was clearly tackled and held WTF!!!

Landers are back! These last two tries have been great!

This has been quite a match - wish I had caught the first half (will have to watch later). It's just 5am here and I was tempted to go back to bed when I woke up at halftime, but glad I didn't. :)

Wow just when you thing the Landers have done enough they defend like utter crap and look like loosing the game.

Damn, this game is a free for all. I better catch up because we are talking about different tries! Now the Canes are back...this is just crazy stuff.

And yeah, looks like he was tackled and didn't release. Ref shoulda called that.

What a game all right. The Brad Thorn fist pump at the end was well worth the watch. LOL.

It was quite the roller coaster ride, that's for sure. Nice to see all the smiles on both sides at the end - I think both teams really enjoyed that match. It was good stuff from where I sat, that's for sure!

On that match alone TJ Ioane would start for the All Blacks at number 6.

He was a bit like Sione Lauaki in this match. Going forward Messam is not a long term option anyway. Imo its only because our locks are pretty decent atm that we are getting away with running a smaller 6 than usual.

Both teams were downright terrible on defence at times though.

I've never understood this. Messam is almost an exact physical replica of Jerry Collins. Was he too small too?

I agree that Messam's size isn't an issue (Collins was usually around 111kgs - forget the 108kgs some sites have him as) - but Collins shape was very different than Messams. The big difference between the two is that Collins absolutely dominated the contact area - both in rucks and of course in runs/tackles, Messams obviusly isn't as powerful and spends far too much time going sideways than forward with ball in hand.

anyone seen Darwin around? ....I need to have a chat about Bronson Murray and TJ :diablo:
