After announcing the signatures of Lee Byrne, Regan King and David Skrela, Clermont have unveiled Benjamin Kayser. Brad Thorn could be next.
South African loose forward Gerhard Vosloo, recognised as one of the best in the Top 14, is also on his way from Brive.
Ahead of Clermont's centenary year, the current French champions are making a splash in the market before the official transfer window even opens.
Wales full-back Byrne (from Ospreys), one-time All Black centre King (from Scarlets), France fly-half Skrela (From Toulouse) and France hooker Kayser (from Castres) will bolster an already star-studded team.
The former Leicester front row won the Top 14 win Stade Français in 2007 and has nine Test caps.
It doesn't end there, according to newspaper Midi Olympique All Blacks lock Thorn has agreed to sign a one-year contract starting after the World Cup.
