Can the Cheetahs do this?
Brumbies well under par last weekend but they stay a quality team

The Cheetahs have this year beaten the Waratahs and Force away from home and the Reds and Rebels in Bloem. Last year they were robbed of a win against the Brumbies in Canberra and will want justice this time round. Given the Cheetahs' good run against Oz teams and the fact that the Brumbies don't look so hot right now I'm going to buck the trend and go with an away team win here. Go, Cheetahs!

The only wrry I have is the Cheetahs have played poor coming in off of bye's and sitting out last week might hurt them if they can't overcome that purely mental hurdle.

Meh, to be honest I feel like Cheetahs are lucky to be where they are. They aren't even really playing a running game this year, a couple weeks ago they were the team in the competition who kicked the most, might still be the same, otherwise it seems they really on "tricks' to often to score their points, they can't score from regular play which is a problem against an organised defense.
I'm afraid in a play-off atmosphere in Canbera the Cheetahs have little chance. Not trying to be an asshole but that's how I feel.

I disagree that the Cheetahs havn't been lucky at all but consistent. True the cheetahs aren't playing as constructively and as excitingly as they used to and relying -rather ironically- on a territorial game and good defense (in some games great defense) and tries off of the turn-over or as you put it "tricks". But that is winning them games just as it is winning other teams who play that way games. in the past the Cheetahs would easily score 5 tries a game but lose while they are now winning games on only 3 tries; if I were a Cheetahs stake holder I know which one I'd prefer.

Willing to put a small wager on that Cheetahs will be very hyped for this encounter and will hurt them up front early on
Ausies on a general low after the Lions series, could see it in all their matches this past weekend

Add the loss in the Ashes series and Oz sport has taken a bit of a knock. I won't be surprised if there are 2 NZ and 2 SA teams in the play-offs after the weekend.

Cheetahs to take this one. So much passion, talent and superb shape.

Please don't be offended I love all SA sides, I just don't think they have the game plan to take our one of the heavy hitters in a play-off scenario.

I don't watch a ton of S15... just some higlights. But I think the Brumbies should take it. They played well agains the Lions and are very well coached by White.

Either way, this game and the other match are going to be great games.

Neither do I but TBH I don't actually see the Brumbies as heavy hitters. Don't get me wrong I don't see the Cheetahs as heavy hitters either and would consider a Cheetah win in Canberra a slight upset as refs tend to favor the home side quite heavily in a play-off scenario due to the tense nature of it but i wouldn't be surprised to see the Cheetahs win is all I'm getting at.

i also think that Cheetahs will win this one. The pack will for sure challenge (ond overcome) the Brumbies-especially in the 2nd and 3rd lines, and i am pretty sure that the scrum-halfs (anyone of them both) will score another sneaky try, as they did during the season in various ocasions.

The only issue could be the "play-off emotions", increased by a full Brumbies stadium cheering for their team. But if they play like they did in so many games this season, they are up for a solid 2 for the bookmakers from me.
