Hey guys,

I'm from Germany, not really a country where rugby is in any way important, but I loved it when I first saw it a few years ago.
Now I'm playing in the 4. German League called Regionalliga Nordost. We've got only 8 teams, two of them are the reserves of higher classified teams. As you can see, nothing special. But after training we spend lots of time in our favourite Scottish Pub, the Connoisseur (if you ever visit Halle an der Saale you're welcome) watching matches from GB, Heineken Cup and Amlin Cup.

Looking forward to interesting discussions (and to refresh my english a wee bit )

Hey, welcome to the forum! I'm a huge rugby fan from Wales, but I'm currently living in Augsburg in Bavaria, so feeling a little bit deprived of Rugby I haven't found anywhere to watch rugby and drink here yet (apart from my room and laptop...not the same) so still searching!
I did find a local team and am thinking of joining up once I have sorted out all my university stuff, think they're called RFC Augsburg and I'm guessing they play in Regionalliga Bayern or something?

You're right, it's hard to find other rugby-enthusiasts in Germany. The regional rugby associations of Thueringen and Saxony-Anhalt fusioned a few years ago because of the fact, that there are only 5 or 6 rugby clubs in that two regions. Except of Heidelberg and Hannover (because of their history) there are only a few cities or regions in Germany, which are even rugby interested or have a club or something. Good for you, that there is one in Augsburg. Bad for you, that the Regionalliga is the weakest organized league-level in Germany, I play in the Regionalliga Nordost and I've just started learning the first techniques of passing, tackling...
I hope you'll enjoy it even tough it is a bit less than amateur.

Entschuldige übrigens mein schlechtes Englisch, ich habe ewig nicht mehr auf Englisch kommuniziert, nur gelesen und gehört. Wie steht es um dein Deutsch?

Mein Deutsch ist ok, aber mein Grammitik ist ein bisschen schlecht! Deine English ist viel besser als meine Deutsch Meine gesprochene Deutsch ist besser als mein schriftlich Deutsch!
