Why?
Well there will not be a new ***le sponsor. They've actually stated that there will be a group of main sponsors, claiming it will bring in more revenue and give it more of an identity.
Also Heineken Champions cup sounds pretty naff to be honest.
They will have multiple sponsors instead of one main sponsor. It makes more sense to do it that way. For example, under French law advertising alcohol on TV is banned, so the commentators and everybody else referred to the old competition as H Cup or the European Cup, so Heineken was paying a lot of money for nothing, regarding the French market.

How do you know? I haven't really seen much in the media about this. Perhaps they are waiting to launch everything with a bang and will announce all the sponsorships they will have closer to the first games.
I suppose it is unsurprising that sponsors don't quite trust the poison at the top.
That's a bit of a stretch - let's see who they end up getting, and for how much, before we judge.
There are lots of rumours swirling around. Apparently the TV deal being put in place in France is around 1/10th the size of the previous deal. If these rumours prove to be the case, the PRL/LNR powerplay for control of European rugby has backfired badly. Not only are they down in revenue for themselves but they've also guaranteed a larger sum of money to the Celtic nations and Italy. So far they've seemingly convinced Heineken to sign back up at 4/10ths what they were paying.
With the loss of Amlin's £5m/yr; the EPCR is at 26.6% of last years sponsorship.

You must be mental if you think Sky care more about the PRO12 than the Premiership.
No home counties - no care.
