Champions Cup - Pool 2, Round 5 and 6 (Castres, Harlequins, Leinster, Wasps)

I know I ***** about Simpson but for his speed alone he should be in the England Six Nations Squad. That and the fact that we have few able-bodied Scrummies.

As a winger, maybe, but he's not a good scrumhalf. Not even better than Youngs.

That was a really weird scrum, Johnson fell through the scrum as his front row was rammed backwards, and kicked the ball out in the process - Owens then called it as ballout.
It should've been a penalty, and Quins would've been extra annoyed as they'd have marched it over the line for a PT if Johnson hadn't pushed the ball out.

Edit: Jeeze, Botica needs to stop kicking in the Wasps 22

16 tackles in one half for Haskell. Shame he wasn't up to much in the AI, especially after his performances v NZ.

Quins switch the point of attack A LOT.... I mean, possibly too often. If those inside balls work, they're great; but if you don't take the opposition by surprise you muller your own attacking structure.

Not sure why Quins are the team, more than nay other, who have our number at scrum time.

Cliffords been fantastic.

Quins best player by a fair distance.

Wasps could tire.

Watching the game in the pub so judgment a little impaired. But I would agree Clifford has been immense and that Quins need to sort their attack out with some structure...

Wasps impressive but they have to tire surely?

WTF?!

Are people actually this comfortable with poaching players that the commentators nonchalantly tell us the date that Hughes becomes eligible?

Embarrassing.

They've been doing since he made his debut for Wasps.

Really don't get why, they don't do it for any other non-capped foreigner.

I agree Rats, but you might find if you ask for their personal opinions they don't agree with such blatent poaching - they might just reply that this is the situation and given this fact, they're just highlighting the facts. Commentators after all are supposed to inform and describe.

Yeah, I remember Barnes mentioning it during a game at the start if last season.

I think the obsession stems from Hughes himself mentioning it himself in an interview? Made it seem like he was keen to play for England.

Dalys boot doesn't even surprise me any more - that kick had another few metres in it!

Jake Cooper-Woolley has arguably been better this season than Cittadini - think he deserves the start.

I don't really see what the problem with the commentators are; they're covering a topic that's of interest to England rugby fans. Whether or not Lancaster opts to use Hughes, it's still certainly a topic for discussion. Don't shoot the messenger and all.

The IRB sets the eligibility rules, any outrage over the rules should be directed at them IMO.

I think it would be silly for England to put higher standards on nationality than what is set by the IRB.

Owens has been unfair on Wasps, should've been a man up after Williams high hit and Leuia should have had a try IMO.
