Champions Cup 2024 / 25 - Round 4

That is incredibly bold, feel like it must be a joke?
Ah, yeah - looking at the schedule it definitely feels like it now

Munster: Mike Haley; Calvin Nash, Tom Farrell, Rory Scannell, Diarmuid Kilgallen; Jack Crowley, Conor Murray; Dian Bleuler, Diarmuid Barron, Oli Jager, Fineen Wycherley, Tadhg Beirne (C); Peter O'Mahony, Alex Kendellen, Gavin Coombes.

Replacements: Niall Scannell, John Ryan, Stephen Archer, Tom Ahern, Jack O'Donoghue, Paddy Patterson, Tony Butler, Brian Gleeson.

Hodnett injured because he played well last week which is the rule! Interested to see how Kilgallen goes I think he might be a player for us.

Think when we last played them we started well but half the squad had a bug and were vomming at half time, but Northampton rightly favourites.

Looks like Bulls will get through to the Challenge Cup. Stade Francais absolutely crumbling here and won't have felt the second half impact of the altitude yet.

Meh, Bulls fell apart once their bench came on, but SF had already given up. Don't think there were any points scored from the 50th minute onwards.

That Munster team really fails to raise a level of excitement. Some good players but maybe 3 I'm interested in seeing how they get on.

Kilgallen looked very poor so far, getting burned for pace a few times

It is genuinely impressive that no matter how **** they are, Munster are only ever one ugly win against a decent team away from being top 8 European team standard.

We've routinely been a top 4 side in Europe without being particularly good in the past. Standard has gone up now, but European rugby really was EZ for a bit

Ropey maul try rules wise. Their backs joined ahead of the tail man. Still we got a try off a 50:22 that wasn't, so I can't moan too much.

Good tough fiery game in a fairly sanitised competition.

Think we may fall off a wee but in the second half with our bench options but happy with how we've played so far

Kilgallen off the pace twice again there. He's understandably rusty as a spoon in a scuba suit

Don't love Deon Fourie not being in the 23 and not really having a clear fetcher, nor am I a fan of not having Libbok in the 23. This team in general will feel quite a bit different to last week as the exciting running rugby playmakers have been taken out... which I guess makes sense with snow forecast in Paris and those type of flair moments less likely to pay off. Gelant also was meant to be someone who knows the ground and conditions well having had a season there... Hmm, let's see.

Definitely resting our headline players who haven't had a long injury layoff.
