Can't make up my mind, at the moment I'm on Geraghty at 12 with Tindall at 13 which creates a nice balance. However there has got to be a better option? Thoughts?

Geraghty at 12 with either Hipkiss or Clarke outside him[/b]

Agreed, I would go with Geraghty at 12 and Hipkiss at 13. Would be worried if we played two relative newcomers at centre, need someone like Hipkiss there as we could potentially have a backline with Banahan and Foden in it as well.

Oh lord, why do people keep calling Geraghty a 12...[/b]

the problem is we don't have anyone else in form - who would you prefer? Tindall isn't a twelve, Hipkiss isn't a twelve and Allen is not good enough

Normally my first reaction would be Allen, but as you say he's not on form (something isn't clicking for him at Leicester).

Barkley is utter **** and should never be considered again. So expect him to start every game during the 6 Nations.

Flood always was a good 12 for Newcastle outside Wilkinson. Geraghty and him in the 1st & 2nd 5/8 berths will be like a poor mans Spencer & Carter; Which is still something well above most other teams. Geraghty is only any good at 10, which explains a lot of his misfiring form at Irish when he was forced to play at 12.

People keep saying Hape. I think he's utter gash tbh, but an option is an option.

Flutey is injured, but useful when he's fit again. Even though he's a Kiwi living in France so has no business representing England.

Walduck has been turning heads of late.

England Like old boys, so there's always the option of Mike Catt!

If Wilkinson stays fit, then we have a 10 who can kick, control a game and also defend.

Which means we can afford a 12 with a spark.

Obviously Flutey would be my 1st choice, but since he's injured we move on to the next one.
Flood can play 12 and would do very well at 10 or 12 for England. But he's injured so on to our 3rd choice.
Turner-Hall. Nope, injured.

Now we're into the realms of uncertainty.

Geraghty is certainly a spraky option, but personally I don't think he's up to it, and I agree with Mite that he's more a 10 than 12.

As I see it, we have Hape, Waldouck, Allen and Barritt available.

Let's get rid of Barritt for now because I've never seen him set the world alight (although that may be due to him playing in a Saracens back division).
Allen, too, is not looking like anything special at Leicester.

Now for the guys in form. Shontayne Hape I've been very impressed by. His offloading out of the tackle is fantastic. But there's 2 possible problems... 1) I'd like him to spend the rest of this season in Union 1st, and 2) alongside Wilkinson, I'd rather have a more effervescent guy at 12.

Which brings me on to Dominic Waldouck. He's a class act, been playing very well for Wasps for the past 3 seasons even if he spent a lot of last term out injured. He's quick and intelligent and I think he could be an excellent foil to Wilkinson.

A midfield of Wilkinson-Waldouck-Hipkiss would suit me just fine.

Alternatively, Wilkinson-Hape-Tait could be interesting, but too risky.

I would go with Hape, but he's not available for England till January. If he was i would say he's the second best <strike>english</strike> 12 behind Flutey who is available for England.

Taits been on great form as a 13 this season for Sale, so i'd like to see him play in the AIs in this position,
Hopefully Johnson doesn't decide to play him at FB again

Would it be disasterous to play Geraghty at 10 and Wilko at 12?
[/b][/quote]

Yes. Wilkinson is not a 12. Never has been a 12. Never will be a 12. And he's utter garbage whenever clever-dick coaches try him at 12.
