Hey

Could any UK based viewers enlighten to as how I might be able to watch this tournament next weekend?
Would it only be on Sky on TV, or is it possible to view with the interweb

Scotland doing okay, Portugal gave NZ a real scare, with the men in black only winning by 19-12, with the teams locked at 12 all a minute or two until the end

Japan came a little too close for comfor for me,
33 - 14
While that's still three tries clear, three tries isn't very much in Sevens

oooof, I am now regretting taking off my slops and running through Kensington just to watch us get humped by Samoa

On the bright side I've done my exercise for the day!

Russia and Portugal are in the Cup quaterfinals...

I hate this 'best placed runners up get through'

So the other second placed teams pay the price for not being put in pish groups?
Right enough...

They weren't in the top 8 on try difference, so are in the quarters for the bowl
Top 8 teams go to the Cup, next 8 the Bowl next 8 the Shield

Portugal, Scotland, USA, Canada, Russia and Wales all got 7pts, but Russia and Wales had the better try difference

Hemmin, early morning so not thinking straight, but I don't get the jist of this post

Are you just pointing out that teams don't go through on try difference, or something else?

We lost to Japan... After being 14 points ahead as well...

There's six pool, and eight spots in the quarters,
The leaders of each pool go through automatically,
The other two places go to the teams with the next highest points (in this case 7 points, which is what all of the 2nd place teams had) and the way they differentiate between the 2nd places is on try difference,
So if Scotland had scored 8 tries and conceded 3 tries, theirs would be 5, and if Russia had scored 6 tried and conceded 4 then theirs would be 2 and Scotland would go to the quarters of the Cup (along with the other 2nd place team with the best try difference) the other 4 go to the quarters of the Bowl, along with the next 4 highest placed teams etc.

Cracking game between England and Samoa, England picked their pockets in the final minutes, with a great try and now face New Zealand in the Final...

The Finals

Shield - Kenya v Spain
Bowl - Japan v Kenya
Plate - Australia v South Africa
Cup - England v NZ - HK7

Only saw the last 5mins of Australia vs SA but it was a good un
Australia got to 7pts behind, and were about 2m out at the end but knocked on in a ruck - gutted for them

Eng vs NZ about to kick off now - Winner takes the lead of the championship!
