Cardiff vs Leinster

Oh ffs. How was that not an example of going off your feet from Leinster? Yet they get the scrum! Getting a bit irritated now.

Healy really isn't that good is he?
Can he actually bind and hold his angle without going across or falling?

err how was that offside at the end of the half by Leinster? I'll admit it was a knock on but wasn't offside... Ref seems to missing alot of knock ons from both sides.

Anyone know why D'arcy was replaced?

I could have sworn you're allowed to do waht SOB just got pinged for.

C'mon Leinster, we could do with Cardiff dropping points.

And Halfpenny misses the easiest of the night, costing Blues the lead. Halfpenny's been awesome tonight though.

And now a silly penalty given away.

Yeh, I'm not sure. That particular law is a little complicated. The fact that Gethin Jenkins and a Leinster player made contact over the ball meant that a ruck had formed. I think that means that SOB then had no right to play the ball, despite being the tackler.

You are, welcome to Pro12 refs. Leinster would be do well if they can win this now.

He was apparently what is now known as "beaten by the ruck", meaning rucked formed before SOB got up to contest meaning he must now rejoin from the back foot to contest.

I stand corrected, although I saw a ref allow it pretty recently.

edit: with a formed ruck

Yeh, that's how I saw it. There wasn't much in it, but a ruck had formed just before SOB played the ball.

Pah, Blues lost that in the first 10min. They were by far the better team for the rest of the match, but a 14 point head start was just too much in the end, even if they still had chances to win it.

Good defense from Leinster at the death there.

Why didn't Schmidt put a center or outhalf on the bench? We were totally unprepared for either D'Arcy, McFadden or Sexton having to go off. We were playing an entire backline of wingers/fullbacks for the last 20 mins.

I thought we were gonna run away with it but Leinster stopped playing after the 2nd try. At least we won anyway and got to play a fair few young lads like Conway, D Kearney and Jordi Murphy. Even thought they were all pretty crap

Creditable Blues performance.

Considering the injury list we had still did pretty well.

Ryan Tyrell - hamstring
Paul ***o - head
Chris Czekaj - hamstring
Jamie Roberts - knee
Dafydd Hewitt - hamstring
Thomas Rhys Thomas - neck/shoulder
Taufa'ao Filise - shoulder
James Down - ankle
Andries Pretorius - knee
Deiniol Jones - shoulder
Martyn Williams - arm
Gavin Henson - calf
Bradley Davies - ill / bug

McCauly Cook was impressive tonight I thought anyway.

didn't think either side were particularly dominant, but although the Cardiff Blues got lots of penalties and territory in the second half I didn't feel they threatened the try line too often

I wasn't impressed by Marc Breeze at hooker, Rhys Williams was much better I thought, maybe Cardiff ought to sign Sale's Marc Jones who wants to move to a Welsh region (according to TRF_Olyy)

Scott Andrews was marching backwards in the scrum which was concerning for Wales

Nine points clear at the top and significant game time for Mark Flanagan, Jordi Murphy and Andrew Conway. I'll take that. Leinster are in a very healthy position now and can afford to rotate their team hugely from this point on if they see fit.

In the remaining nine games I'd like to see more of Jack McGrath, Jamie Hagan, Mark Flanagan, Rhys Ruddock, Dominic Ryan, John Cooney/Luke McGrath, Ian Madigan, Andrew Conway and less of Cian Healy, Mike Ross, Leo Cullen, Sean O'Brien, Jamie Heaslip, Eoin Reddan/Isaac Boss, Jony Sexton and Rob Kearney. Get the next generation of starters up to speed by giving all of them 5 or 6 games.

Yeah, the more I see of Andrews, the less convinced I am by him. I think that Rhodri Jones and Joe Rees will be better options within a season or so.
Parks was on and off, as usual. Can't help but feel that he should have taken that one penalty. Halfpenny's boot is only accurate outside of 35m. The second kick he missed (53m) was under by inches, and despite looking horribly off target at first, corrected and was a perfect shot between the posts.

Not sure abouty Cook, gave away a few silly penalities. Robinson has some nice feet and certainly not lacking in confidence.

are you saying Halfpenny is more accurate from further out?

that reminds of François Steyn, as just a regular goal kicker he's not that good

do you remember he cost the Sharks the 2007 Super 14 by missing an easy conversion which would have put them out of range of the Bulls?
