Something I have gleamed from this article: http://www.independent.co.uk/sport/...ters-ahead-of-the-channel-launch-8717252.html

The new channel released a statement explaining its plan to revolutionise coverage of sport and football, including a new interactive playing surface that can be used to demonstrate moves in football, rugby and other sports.

Which I believe is the thing Jake Humphrey is standing on in this advert...

So that thing is a thing. Cool.

Welcome to Tron.

Just decided to sign up to this, so will see what all the hype is about.... shame its not over virgin media tho, as was just about to bin off sky, but guess I will be keeping it

All I wanna know is, is Premiership Rugby going to continue to put full match streams after the game has finished on their website?

I can't see why not... there will almost certainly be some sort of weekly highlights show, whether it's on ITV or otherwise.
And they need the footage for that, so I'd imagine there will be. I hope so anyway.

Meh, wouldn't watch weekly highlights even if they were available. ITV should split that show into two, like MotD (one on Sat, one on Sun), and have more extensive highlights. atm, it's just a collection of tries from the weekend plus a few shots of a penalty kicker. Find it a little boring.

It is boring, but it's continued existence would also necessitate the recording of all of the games, meaning that the premiership can continue to upload said footage.

I see. I was more worried about contractual arrangements with BT. With all that money being thrown at this project, I'd imagine it's in BT's ballpark as to whether Premiership Rugby are allowed to upload the videos. They may think that those streams detract from viewing numbers to their highlights package, or that people may forego BT subscription fees because they can just watch it on the Premiership website.

Just to note all matches are recorded anyways for stats, like in football... It allows determination of player values and match odds...

I should have thought of that.

Anyway, they've just posted pictures of the studios:

Seen an article in paper that numbers aren't as great as they predicted so hope it not a Setanta Version 2

The difference being that Setanta was dwarfed by BSkyB, whereas BT is three times the size of BSkyB.

They have a hell of a lot of resources to throw down, and considering the sizable investment they have already made, they are unlikely to be willing to back out.

True but alot of gamble matters on how their numbers for soccer Premier League are

I just think they are not going to be willing to fail, considering how large and how public this investment has been...

It certainly is.

Thinking about it though, this gives BT leverage over the SRU when it comes to their proposed European cup to replace the Heineken...

That's hilarious!

I wonder if Sky will re-write their rules so you can't explicitly advertise rival services and they have to modify their logos (kind of like France with no-alcohol rules affecting the Brains SA logo on Wales' old kits).
