Bristol boss Paul Hull has continued his preparations for next season with the announcement that scrum-half Jason Spice will join the club next season whilst Argentinian international Mariano Sambucetti has signed a new contract.
Spice has been with the Cardiff Blues since the summer of 2007 and to date has made 43 appearances scoring five tries.
Prior to that he was with the Ospreys between September 2004 and May 2007 making 78 appearances scoring twelve tries.
Spice played club rugby for Waikato from 1995 to 1998 and Wellington from 1999 to 2003. The experienced Kiwi also played for New Zealand A in 2000 and appeared on the bench for the All Blacks in 2001.
In 2004 he moved to Wales to play for the Ospreys where he played his part in the winning of the 2004/05 Celtic League and the 2006/07 Magners League.
This season Spice's experience has been vital to the Blues and has been instrumental in their passage to the quarter-finals of the Heineken Cup and the semi finals of the EDF Energy Cup.
Meanwhile, Sambucetti has been with Bristol since they returned to the Guinness Premiership in 2005/06.
He has been a regular feature in the first team matchday squad although last season was ruined by a bad hamstring injury.
However, now fit and healthy, he has been involved in twelve Guinness Premiership matches this season and his signing means that Bristol will boast a formidable second-row group next season with Nathan Budgett, Roy Winters and Josh Brown all already on board.[/b]
