[h=1]Listening device found in All Blacks hotel ahead of Bledisloe Cup test against the Wallabies[/h]
New Zealand Rugby has confirmed a bugging device was found in the All Blacks' Sydney hotel in the leadup to Saturday's Bledisloe Cup test.
NZR said in a statement that an investigation was underway, after the device was found in a team meeting room.
"A listening device was found in a meeting room this week during a routine security check," NZR chief executive Steve Tew said.

Have the All Blacks been bugged in Sydney?
"The hotel immediately launched an investigation, we have informed the Australian Rugby Union, and jointly we have now decided to hand over the investigation to the Australian police. We are taking this issue very seriously, and given it will be a police matter, it would not be prudent to go into further details."
The sophisticated device - described as similar to that used by law enforcement and spying agencies - had been planted in a chair in the hotel where the team have been staying since Sunday, NZME reported.
The report also suggested the foam of the seat appeared to have been deliberately and carefully cut to make way for the surveillance device and then sewn or glued back together to be almost undetectable.
It was discovered on Monday after team management asked the security detail looking after them in Australia to sweep the room at the Intercontinental in Double Bay for bugs, NZME reported.
The All Blacks changed their schedule and arrived in Australia earlier than in recent years, touching down in Sydney six days before the test.
