Boycotting American Companies

MAGA has been 20 years in the making - there was a groundswell that made pandering to the tea party important.
It's not going away just because the current cult leader dies / leaves office (these to things will most likely be simultaneous). I certainly don't see the Supreme Court returning to normal just because Trump goes awy.
Murca F*** Yeah! goes back even further

They may not represent the majority of Americans (and note, my issue is the country, not the individuals) but they represent a strong enough faction to win elections.
The Tea Party and MAGA are not related. Stop getting your political analysis from Brits who can't point to Idaho on a map.

They haven’t done it properly. To say the dems are also responsible for this **** show due to the candidate they picked (who was a god by the way) is a bit like saying Adam Beard is also responsible for the woes of Welsh rugby. I mean, sure, there’s better options out there but you can hardly lay the blame, or even 10% of it, at his feet.
The Joe Biden debacle was a massive own-goal. It completely shattered -- on live TV -- the veil that the "adults were in charge". The following 3-weeks acting like it was NBD from key democratic leaders broke the trust of the American people.

Hence, while Trump's approval rating is sagging, the Democratic party approval rating is at an all-time low.

Every time I watch Trump I know he’s not an adult.

Not only is he a deeply unserious person, he is also not very bright. I doubt he could point out Greenland on a Map.

What about Vance? Poor white boy gets into Yale Law.
Granted he has a few more brain cells than Trump but he’s not exactly a very impressive individual. More importantly, he’s a snidely little snake with no morals and would probably sell his own mother for a few mins in the spotlight.

No big deal. David Lammy went to Harvard law school. As mush as I dislike him it's no mean achievement as a black kid.

Might explain why him and Vance get on. Plus they both have slagged Donnie boy off.
At least with Lammy, like him or loath him, at least you know he’s principled. You may disagree with him but you know where you stand. Vance would become a communist tomorrow if he thought he’d become president.

Lammy is Principled?!?!?!

He went from calling Trump a literal Nazi to 'visit me daddy' in the space of a few months... didnt he defend Trumps stance on NATO too?

Prinicpled hahahaha

Loving the idea of a boycott, they are only effective when enough people getnon board and it makes a difference, the idea of targetting a single company is probably better suited, if enough people could hit Mcdonalds hard (being Trumps fave) then it would send a message. Boycotting every American company would prove useless and too difficult, too many people are lazy than pricipled.

But then i wouldnt consider the last 80nuears of American action with rose tinted glasses and pretend they havnt committed atrocities, or threatened and bullied anyone in their way.

But i could help, ill be in Manhattan again in a few months, anyone have a letter they want me to deliver to Trump tower?

There’s a difference between doing your job as a politician and being diplomatic with a leader of another country and selling your beliefs out at the drop of a hat in order to gain power.

So, was he lying about his belief thay Trump is a Nazi, or does he just welcome powerfull Nazi's for political reasons?

The man went from:

“a woman-hating, neo-Nazi-sympathising sociopath”

To congratulations Mr President:

"We look forward to working with you and JD Vance in the years ahead.

APologies, dont mean to derail the thread, this is probably best suited to political thread.

If the Dems win the next election I’d like to see them do the opposite of Biden. Not having a go at Jo, and he did the right thing at the time when he got elected by trying to heal the divide amongst Americans, but if I was the Dem who had just won in my first speech o would be saying Trump and co must be held accountable for all their ****. If they don’t do that then you run the risk of it all happening again. Accountability is the word. They must be held to account.
After the civil war they tried to reconcile the south and now there are southerners who act like the Confederacy won, were on the right side of history and to this day keep trying to enforce the old Confederacy mindset. After WW2, the Nuremburg trials and the like made very clear which side lost and were on the wrong side of history.

If Biden and the DoJ hadn't dragged their heels so much, and Democrats hadn't been so feeble preventing Republicans stacking the courts, Trump would have been in prison by now. Republicans will scream about weaponising the judiciary but they are already doing that, and it's not weaponising if the people in question are actually performing criminal acts.

To blame Democrats for what is happening though is ridiculous. They can be blamed for not doing enough to stop it but it's very much the Republicans that have pushed everything this way.

Occasionally, I wonder why I have some people on ignore, and then I opt to read their content and realize I made the right decision.

New Board Rule: If you haven't lived in the United States of America®, you don't get to opine on the country.

Thank god you never let your opinion known about anything outside the USA ever...

I can agree with this to a point. I agree that people that live in whatever country are going to have a better understanding of that country but let’s also not pretend that a lot of the views expressed on here aren’t shared by many millions of Americans as well.

To be fair, the idea of comparing Americans to Americans is never fair. The US is so diverse state by state. The idea Hawaiians, Alaskans, Greenlanders, New Yorkers, and Texans all have a shared culture is crazy, and the fact they share so much when it comes to value system is pretty impressive. Those drunk racist rich kids who wrote the constitution should be patting themselves on the back right now.
