The Blues showed flashes of sheer brilliance that punctuated long periods of ineptitude. In the first half, there were more "one-off-the-ruck" runs that you'd find in a third grade rugby league match. They will not win Super Rugby if they continue to play like this. They really struggled to put away a team they should have dealt with easily.

Final score 29-22 to the Blues, a lot closer than it should have been.

Cheetahs played really well during the second half of the game and the Blues had a really sloppy defense.

Yeah were lacking in our consistency (what else is new) but I still reckon we'll come right.

Cheetahs did play well but yeah I thought we'd win comfortably but that wasnt the case.

I reckon it will be a close game for them against the highlanders next weekend.

I'd be surprised if it is close - it'd more the Highlanders fault than anything else if it goes to the wire. I can't see them winning many this year, not with all their injuries with little depth. They and the Force are going to battle it out for bottom spot IMO.

Unless all their leaders and Springboks make a miraculous return from injury soon.

Blues will need to be 10x better than what they were on saturday if they want to be serious contenders in Super Rugby.

If I was a Blues supporter I'd be very happy with the Blues start to the season, as last time I checked they had only lost 1 game! They will have to play better, but the important thing is they won (for the third week in a row!) - it's vitally important in a long season to win games even when you don't play well, as it is difficult to play at a high level every game of the season.

Only saw extended highlights of the game - it looked as though the Blues were breaking the line almost at will, but just lacked finishing for much of he game. If they can get their final passes to stick, they look as though they could compete with any team in the competition.

blues banked the 5 points which they really needed to do and they still have some room to improve but due respect has to be given to the Cheetahs. They played well and teams should not take them lightly.

Wasn't too impressed with McAlister trying to be a hero (maybe AB selection preying on his mind) and trying to do it solo, especially after Brett's very unselfish offload to Joe the try before.

True, but the Highlanders had an awesome start, lost two in a row and one again this weekend. Everything is possible.
