BLIC is back for 2007

Actually, I had problems saving my Cricket 2005 games on PS2. It was quite a rarity, but when it did not save I then went on to lose my next game, thus being knocked out of whatever tournament I was playing.

That's karma for you!!

It was more the profile, but it still had occaisonal probs in tournaments, albeit very annoying ones. It was just slow and it rarely recognised that I'd saved a profile and I'd have to go and load it every time I started the game, if it was recognised.

It just got on my nerves, plus I hated the gameplay after about 3 weeks - then I started to become more interested in BLIC.

ahh the profile, yeah i understand that problem i didnt have a problem with that just saving the profile which i would think would do that automatically, but it doesnt.

blic is fun if you just want to smash the opposition all the time where cricket 2005 is fun if you want competitive matches, but only after you figure out how to hit the ball!

sure BLIC had AI running issues, but if that was fixed it would have been one of the sports ***les for 2005/06

It was one of the best 2 player games of the year - where AI running doesnt exist

The way the pitch condition varied and the way the weather effected play was the most realistic thing in the game, and delivered what was a pleasureable experience

Adding in sweep, cut shots, and reflex slips catch is only going to make the game a killer.

If they fix the AI running, and get that 100% right, with required run rates, wickets in hand etc - i nearly couldnt fault the game much more

yeah but what i am saying is thats all that ruined the game and made the game unplayable. i am just talkin about one player, 2 player was fun if you had someone who could play the game single player was not fun at all and not worth playing at all.

hopefully its fixed for the next version :)

not to mention co-op was awesome. relying on your mate to call correctly or to take a catch. some of the classic matches challenges were awesome to play co-op.

nope its been done in house by codemasters :( unfortunatly
the same game engine has been sold off to codies - or something

yes swordfihs sold/ handed over all the rights to codemasters so that a squel could be made. the game will basically be the same like last time except with better graphics and some other tweaks. swordfish know there stuff and I don't think would have let go of their stuff if codemasters were stupid .

I trust Codemasters anyway. They've made some pretty **** games in their time, but who hasn't? They've certainly made more good than bad though.

I could throw Codemasters further than I trust EA Sports..... Just to mix up an old saying.

Am i the only one who's praying for a PSP version?

Imagine a bit of Lara on the bus/train etc (insert smutty joke here)

i am just stoked this is going to be online!!! thats why i will be getting an xbox 360 and xbox live, just to play blic online!!!

I've posted some new screens in the EA Cricket thread (full size)

And i got this from xbox world forum ....

Brian Lara International Cricket 2007, the evolution of the genre-leading cricket game series, is set to be the most authentic and exciting cricket gaming experience yet when it launches next March for the Xbox 360â"¢ video game and entertainment system from Microsoft, PlayStation®2 and PC.

The game recreates the ICC Champions Trophy 2006 and the ICC Cricket World Cup 2007 as officially licensed events complete with player names and likenesses. In addition, the game will also feature an array of officially licensed cricket equipment as the new screenshots released today reveal.

Brian Lara International Cricket 2007 will include enough licensed cricket equipment to fill a sports shop. In the game, Brian Lara will wield his MRF Wizard 400 bat, a brand new design for the bat created to celebrate his world record performance of 400 (not out) against England in April 2004.

The game will further increase its level of authenticity with a multitude of officially licensed bats, balls, pads, arm-guards, gloves, helmets, wicket-keeper pads and gloves from renowned cricket equipment specialists such as MRF, Kookaburra, Dukes, Gray Nicholls, GM (Gunn & Moore), Morrant, Newbery, Slazenger and Albion.

Expanding the series’ acclaimed gameplay and content, Brian Lara International Cricket 2007 will capture all the thrills and intensity of world-class international cricket. The game leads with a dedicated ICC Cricket World Cup 2007 mode featuring all the teams, players, stadia, kits and equipment of the tournament. Set to include over 400 real player names and likenesses, the game plays host to all of the stars of international cricket, such as Steve Harmison (England), Brett Lee (Australia), Sachin Tendulkar (India) and Shahid Afridi (Pakistan).

The ICC Champions Trophy 2006 tournament, currently in play in India, will also be faithfully recreated in the game. The month-long event is a celebration of one-day cricket with the world’s best teams and players. It is the only time the 10 Test-playing countries compete together outside of the ICC Cricket World Cup.

Mr. Malcolm Speed, Chief Executive Officer of the International Cricket Council, says:

“It is a pleasure to continue our successful relationship with Codemasters for the introduction of Brian Lara International Cricket 2007. The series has always captured the excitement and intensity of one day international cricket. To see the detail invested in the 2007 edition is very exciting, especially as the game will feature ICC official licensed events and launch for the ICC Cricket World Cup 2007. By working closely together we aim to deliver the best game of one day cricket anyone could hope for.â€

With in-game commentary from established cricket experts Jonathan Agnew, David Gower, Ian Bishop, Bill Lawry and Tony Greig, real player stats from Wisden and featuring the Hawkeye analysis system, Brian Lara International Cricket 2007 will deliver the most authentic cricket gaming experience. Pad up and prepare for the game’s arrival next March, coinciding with the ICC Cricket World Cup 2007, for Xbox 360, PC and PlayStation 2.[/b]

i must admit the screens from BLIC look awesome. but who knows they could have done what they do out of madden and use pre rendered pics.

the ea cricket 2007 pics look very similar to the 2005 pics

well maybe but then again maybe not. blic 2007 will be awesome building upon 2005 with more improvments and offical licenses. I will predict blic 2007 will be the better buy just like blic 2005 was over ea 2005
