The Lions' revival hit a major speed bump on Tuesday when their cash-flush investors terminated their relationship with the union.

It's a pity, it just seems that they weren't interested in the grass roots and club game.

I've never been a fan but its sad to see the union's fall from it's hayday in the 90's when it was the heart of Springbok rugby. There are a lot of big businessmen in Jo'Burg and I'm sure the union will find a way of getting out of the fix. Then again it might open up a spot for the Southern Kings seeing as the Bulls are so closely located to the Lions and have probably been absorbing the Lion's fan base during the last 5 years or so. A S15 franchize in Port Elizabeth would be very well supported and would certainly in time get into the swing of things; the more sustainable of the two rugby-wise IMO even though Jo'Burg is the biggest city o_O

I wish i could do investment in grass root level. So in this way we may have the best team in the world which can not be defeated easily.
