Benetton Treviso v Ulster

there is one word that stands above all at the mo

GILROY!

In fairness Dowling has been injured alot, but on the match well Trimble is with Ireland and what do you know Ulster benefit from it.

I am now stuck in the awkward position of wanting to tell you to leave your Trimble obsession at the door (particularly as you've admitted he's been very good for Ulster) and knowledge of the massive hypocrisy it would be as I made a joke about it not six hours earlier.

Bugger.

Peat, while I agree I down Trimble alot for Ireland my point here was if Trimble wasn't with Ireland would Gilroy have got the chance and Ulster benefited. This wasn't a dig at Trimble

If Gilroy is mentored properly then I'd expect him to be capped in future years

True, all the provinces have benefitted from using the international window to look at their youngsters in some way.

will gilroy get a cap?

If he fulfils his potential, it would be an absolute crime if he doesn't get a few.

Plenty of them but not until after the World Cup at least. His second try against Cardiff was fantastic. His two tries against Treviso were gimmes but he was in the right place at the right time and wouldn't have scored had he come off his wing. I thought he took the wrong option for his first try against Cardiff (passing to Adam D'arcy who had a clear run in was a better call) but you can't fault his confidence in his own ability and obvious poachers instinct.

The Ireland u20 backline could be scarily good this year. Andrew Conway, Craig Gilroy, Andrew Boyle, Sam Coghlan Murray, Tiernan O'Halloran, Luke Marshall, Alex Kelly, Brendan Macken, Paddy Jackson, Gareth Quinn McDonagh, James McKinney and Peter du Tout all fighting it out for the 9-15 positions bodes very well.
