Ben Morgan Makes International Decision?

While your arguement is the equivilent of saying that there is no point in chasing Dan Biggar (hypothetically) or Owen Farrell because you currently have Geraghty, Lamb, Myler and Hodgson.

No. It's not. It's saying England shouldn't pick an English qualified player who is playing in a different country while there are equivalent options playing in the Premiership.

Point out to me where Olyy said anything about foreign based players would you, I mean apart from the bit where he talked up Haskell who (up to about 2 hours ago) was based in Paris.

Incidently, what are your thoughts on Waldrom? I presume you prefer that England look to New Zealanders who have been living in England for a few years, over Englishmen who are playing in Wales?

My bad, should have read his argument better :p

My thoughts on Waldrom are that, as he is based in England and is eligible to play through parentage, he should be considered for selection. I wouldn't pick him, because I don't think he's good enough, but he is still eligible.
I also think that Morgan should be considered, as he's obviously English by parentage and has largely grown up here, but again I wouldn't pick him because he has made the choice to play 'abroad', and so to leave the English rugby system, as well as the fact that I think there are better options.

So yes, both should be eligible, but not picked. In the case of Morgan, I'd again fall back on the idea that if we're going to be picking a prospect for the future, then we should pick one that is staying in the English rugby system, like Fearns or Guest.

Olyy, you have failed to repond in the allowed time. I will take your absense as an acknowledgement of your devastating defeat in this thread, signalling yet another magnificant victory for me over the staff of TRF.

I'd like to thank my mom, the little baby jebes, the unknown soldier, my mom .............. and the lil baby jeabies.

I don't understand what I'm supposed to be arguing with you about to be honest,
He's obviously interested in playing for Wales hence turning down the Saxons spot, so I'd rather we put the time and effort into someone who wants to play for England - Morgan is good, but so are Fearns and Guest.
I don't really care if you don't rate any English backrower in the world other than Ben Morgan:

Morgan is shaping up to have a very bright international career in front of him imo. He was awesome last season for the Scarlets, and produced some of the best ball carrying displays I've seen in a long, long time. He's by no means the finished article, but it's a great base to work off. Unlike some other good ball carrying 8's, he doesn't have a tendancy to make stupid errors or give away penalties either, which is more than can be said of the likes of Powell or Spies. If he chooses Wales, we should witness a great duel between him and Faletau for years to come which I can't wait to witness....

There's a part of me that feels like he shouldn't play for Wales because he's English, but we haven't got the player pool to be picky. If he wants to play for Wales, then that's his decision, and we're not doing anything that every other country aren't doing.

Well, we have bee waiting for a massively powerful 8 since Soup-erb Scott retired, and now we could have two.

I could care less about nationality if England pick Waldrom.
