ASM Clermont Auvergne vs Leinster
Stade Marcel Michelin
12/12/10, 16:00

Why dose this have to be on a Sunday? Should be a good game if the QF last season was anything to go by.

Clermont will win at home but well if Leinster can pick up 6 points from the next 2 weekends it'll be a great return.

I would think Clermont should win this game being at home, after good win against toulose and with Leinster having injuries in the backs. I do think Leinster are deffinatly capable of the win but I would predict Clermont to get the victory. Would be aiming for a bonus point here but I think Leinster need to go into this game knowing they can win even though Clermont have some really talented players.

LEINSTER:

2: Richardt Strauss
3: Mike Ross
4: Leo Cullen CAPTAIN
5: Nathan Hines
6: Sean O'Brien
7: Shane Jennings
8: Jamie Heaslip
REPLACEMENTS:

The coach has picked Leinster's strongest scrummaging tight 5 after Clermont did a number on the Leinster scrum in last season's quarter final. Brian O'Driscoll failing to make the 23 is no surprise. In his stead is Eoin O'Malley and this represents a big chance for him. The only real surprise is Isaac Boss starting at 9 in place of Eoin Reddan.

Snoop I not surprised at the choice made for 9 jersey. Also it seems to be that Leinster have picked the most physical side available. David Kearney has really progressed well and nice to see him in 23

Huge chance for O'Malley, I'll be watching him closely! McFadden looks excellent on the wing too.

I think a huge effort from Leinster will be needed to stop Clermont running away with it all the same.

It's a super place to go and if Leinster even get a loosing BP it wouldn't be bad result

What a fupping team. Leinster could be looking at a whooping if they're not completely on the balll.

I've popped a tenner on Leinster to win... Bookies are giving em 4/1. They seem like pretty sweet odds. I haven't seen any of Clermont this year but they're in the bottom half of the top 14 and they lost to Racing Metro in the last round of the Heineken Cup so I figure they can't be that good.

A Game Clermont really need to win. Such a strong side with something to prove. They will not want Leinster going to France and snatching a win with 3 major injuries in the backs. Leinster clearly want a platform and from there they will have to throw everything at Clermont. Sexton, Horgan and D'arcy are really going to have to step up and take leading roles as they have McFadden and O'Malley aside them. Leinster have a strong backrow and I want it right in Parra's and James' face. Sexton will really need his kicking boots in as we will have to take every chance we get.

They did beat Toulouse last week though, and Toulouse were pretty much at full strength.

I feel quite uneasy about this one. To quote a former poet laureate:

Cannon to right of them,
Cannon to left of them,
Cannon in front of them
Volley'd and thunder'd;
Storm'd at with shot and shell,
Boldly they rode and well,
Into the jaws of Death,
Into the mouth of Hell
Rode the six hundred.

We're doomed.

Clermont will take the victory altho it will be a hard fight.
The reason for their medium performances in the Top14 is that they actually succeed in giving away penalties to the opposite team by making realy clumsy and basic errors.
