England will be without London Irish full-back Delon Armitage for most of the Six Nations after he received an eight-week Rugby Football Union ban.
Armitage appeared before a disciplinary hearing on Thursday for allegedly pushing an anti-doping officer.
The 27-year-old was alleged to have used threatening and/or abusive and obscene language during a test after the Exiles' game against Bath.
He will now only be eligible to play against Ireland on 19 March.
The Rugby Football Union has charged Armitage with "conduct prejudicial to the interests of the sport" following the incident on 1 January.
Trinidad-born Armitage, who returned a negative test, has won 19 England caps and is a member of
Martin Johnson's squad for the Six Nations, starting in February.
He made his
Test debut in 2008 but has recently fallen down the pecking order and was used as a replacement during the November Test series with Northampton's Ben Foden taking the number 15 jersey.
