Hang on Hang on. Wales managed to score tries and points against South Africa, Italy didn score a single point against the Boks.
[/b]
Yeh but while they only conceded 26 points, we conceded 80 points - an average of 40 points per game!

Mallett is coaching Italy to defend well. He's not teaching any other skill like how to attack...
Damage limitation is his key word...and it works so far....(forget the Millennium Stadium match.. :cryy: :cryy: :cryy: )
We have a solid pack...and we're using it as well as we can
but we don't really know how to score point with our backs....even because we haven't a decent FH.
With the new code we'll do backward steps once again....
Maybe we'll come back to be the cannon fodder reality of 6N :cryy: :wall: :cryy: :wall:
Italy has to find a pair of half backs; if it can discover a pair of gondoliers with a penchant for test match rugby they have the capacity to rise from the bottom of the Six Nations pile and quickly.[/b]
If we'll find a good FH maybe we'll be able to set an attacking match..
but without a decent pivot we'll never do anything different from pick and drive....
especially not when those players outside do not play the 'second five-eighth' role New Zealanders are so fond of.
The italian union is trying to put pressure to the IRB to get the special permission to pick Gerald Fraser...
in the meanwhile Mallett is trying McLean for this role....instead of Marcato. :ranting: :ranting: :ranting:
About the test against the Boks....
the world champs underestimated Italy....and the weather helped us a lot....
