If you could change any rule or rules what would it be?

I was watching rwc debate or something similar and I think it was John Eales who was asked this question and he said hed make rucks an open contest and allow both teams to use their hands to regain possession. Ive always wonderd what a game would be like like this. Itd probably a lot slower and not great to watch but probably good to play.

Exactly. This is actually not far from how games go at lower levels but at the very top, it would be pretty difficult for fans or sponsors to swallow...as there are literally millions of dollars/pounds/euros at stake. Generally speaking, fans would rather watch a match between two teams attacking and defending fluidly than one involving an 80 minute riot.

I would like to see the old breakdown rules brought back..the fact that a tackler or tackle assistant must release the ball once the player in possession's knee hits the ground as he has "won the contest" annoys me...fetching is no longer easy !!

I also believe that there should a scrum should only be reset once ..the team that is deemed to be wheeling , bringing down or engaging early should have a free kick awarded against them...I'm all for scrummaging but those 2-3 minute scrumtimes are upsetting to play in and boring to watch.
