There is no way this is a signing to replace Houggaard. Henson hasn't played [strike]rugby[/strike] 10 for years; Goode was picked out to start at 10 at the beginning of the season and we've got some youngsters about too.
Saracens are very keen on expanding their fanbase and Henson is the sort of signing that might draw non-rugby fans along. So it sort of makes sense from that perspective. He's also, potentially, a world class player - which Saracens lack in the backs, so again it makes sort of sense.
And from his point of view, moving to London will do wonders for his media career.
Anyway, I'm not too excited about this signing as there's so much that goes on. What I can say is that Saracens has a team who are all very happy to be there and well looked after by the coaching staff. Maybe this will do him some good.
